2nd symposium on networking in regional healthcare – services that work
On November 20, 2024, the second symposium on networking in regional healthcare took place in the Kulturhaus LŸZ in Siegen under the title “Offers that arrive”. The event was organized by the University of Siegen in cooperation with the Siegerland health region, the Siegen-Wittgenstein district, the Dementia Care Management network, the Alzheimer Gesellschaft Siegen-Wittgenstein e.V., the Caritasverband Siegen-Wittgenstein e.V. and the regional office for ageing, care and dementia. The aim was once again to network important players in regional healthcare in order to improve healthcare in the region.
In addition to holding the symposium, the Chair of Information Systems, in particular IT for the ageing society (Prof. Dr. Claudia Müller) organized its own workshop on the topic of “Digital platforms in regional healthcare” through its employees Stephan Krayter, David Struzek and Jasmin Lehmann. The aim was to discuss the wishes, requirements and possibilities of digital platforms in order to identify initial use cases for the development of corresponding platforms. The high number of participants in the workshop impressively demonstrated the great interest of regional healthcare stakeholders in this topic.
Background:
Sub-projects 4 ‘Health & Ageing’ and 5 ‘Social Affairs & Inclusion’ in the FUSION project aim to contribute to making access to health, care and social services clearer, lower-threshold and more local and citizen-oriented. To this end, they aim to develop practice-oriented and digitally supported transfer solutions in rural regions. Using a participatory approach, new concepts and solutions are to be developed and tested together with citizens, experts and researchers from the region. The main aim is to answer questions about access with new possibilities of digitalization.
